Paint polishing – remove scratches and restore the shine
Polishing removes a thin layer of paint with an abrasive compound to eliminate surface defects. The result is a mirror-smooth finish without the fine scratches that accumulate over time — and the ideal foundation for long-term paint protection.
- Polishing removes swirl marks, oxidation, and fine scratches — but not deep scratches you can feel with your fingernail
- Machine polishing delivers far better results than hand polishing
- Paint should be protected with wax or ceramic coating the same day after polishing
- Price from 3 000 NOK (one-stage) or from 5 000 NOK (two-stage paint correction)
What is paint correction and polishing?
There are two levels:
- One-stage polish — a light polish that removes fine swirl marks and oxidation. Suitable for cars in good condition.
- Two-stage paint correction — first a heavy cut with a stronger compound, then a fine polish to achieve maximum gloss. Used on cars with deeper defects.
- Swirl marks from car washes
- Fine scratches from brushes and cloths
- Oxidation (dull, hazy paint)
- Water spots that have etched into the surface
- Light holograms and buffer trails
- Scratches you can feel with your fingernail
- Stone chips down to the primer
- Dents and deformations
Hold a flashlight against the paint at an angle in the dark. Can you see a web of fine, circular scratches in the light? Other signs: the paint looks dull even after washing, or the colour appears hazy and grey in sunlight.
Light correction
Removes fine swirl marks and oxidation. Suitable for cars in relatively good condition without severe defects.
Full correction
Heavy cut + fine polish for maximum gloss. For cars with deeper defects, older paint, or many years without polishing.

After polishing, the paint is open and unprotected — the last layer of oxidation and contamination has been removed. This is the ideal time to apply protection:
- Wax — simple and quick protection, lasts 1–3 months
- Ceramic coating — long-term protection, lasts 2–5 years
Polishing without subsequent protection means the paint quickly accumulates new defects. Wax or ceramic coating should be applied the same day — ideally within a few hours of polishing.
Combine two-stage paint correction with ceramic coating — you won't need to repeat the process for 2–5 years and the paint holds its gloss far longer than with wax alone.
