Frequently asked questions about ceramic coating
We use Gardx Ceramic CX². With proper care, expect 2–3 years of protection: hand washing with pH-neutral shampoo and no brush washes. How long it lasts in practice also depends on how much the car is driven and parked outside.
No. The coating is hard and resists light wash marring better than bare paint, but it won't stop stone chips, key scratches or damage from brush washes. It protects against UV, road salt, bird droppings and chemicals — and makes the car easier to wash.
The coating seals in whatever is underneath. Swirl marks and dullness stay for 2–3 years unless they're removed first. That's why a one-stage polish is included, and for more worn paint we recommend two-stage correction.
Wax sits on top of the paint and lasts 1–3 months. Ceramic coating bonds chemically to the paint, lasts 2–3 years and handles washing and chemicals far better. Wax is cheaper today, coating is cheaper over time.
Leave the car unwashed for the first week while the coating fully cures. After that: hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo and clean microfibre. Avoid brush car washes — they scratch no matter what's on the paint.
Often yes, but not much. New cars usually have marks from transport and dealer prep. We look at the paint first — a one-stage polish is usually enough.
